"Back to the land of the origins of drum n bass, the UK is home to two of the scene’s newest upcoming producers, Zeal & Litta. Like any other story at the beginning, these guys are breaking ground in the digital world, with releases on Close 2 Death, Obscene, Steppasoundz and more. Focusing for the whole of 2009 on production, this team has a shot at traveling a long road in the world of Drum n Bass with the Ohm crew.

Holocene is a team up with label owner and professional transporter Submerged. Heavy fire power, and a drum sound like a stompin’ methed out Tony Williams punching bricks, Holocene displays Submerged trademark mid ranges combined with the sleekness of Zeal & Litta production and synths.

Ruby Weapon shows off a little more of the synth side of the Zeal & Litta workhorse, combining anime samples and arpeggiation, but the drummer is still working thru the bag of speed he got for the first track.

The first track to attract the attention of Ohm Resistance, Sky Iron goes so far over the top with the sample from the Golden Compass about bears and their armor and souls and dogs and shit that it could only have one home – here at Ohm. The break runs straight and the hard edge neuro slicers come out. 5 Star banger here.

And then the meltdown comes on Warfare. The break breaks a little more, showing off some programming chops and winds into a spastic bombardier, with a very modern touch to the structure. Ultra high grade drum edits spin your head as the track changes levels multiple times."

Dark as night dnb, beautifully mixed together. The music is dark, but not as mechanical as other dnb artists like Donny or Freqax. The basses are hypnotizing and there is always a dash of ambiebt sounds that make it interesting. Thats over one hour of good music. Worth the buy. Bernhard
